“Our goal with Farm to Fork isn’t just one good night,” said Christina Reidy, Vice President of the Wilmington Farmers Market Association’s Board of Directors. “We want to build something our community gets excited about every year, the way people look forward to Fun on the Fourth or the Annual Holiday Tree Lighting. That kind of tradition needs everyone.”
Proceeds will help cover the rising cost of running the Wilmington Farmers Market each summer and support the Association’s efforts to expand food assistance and community programming in town.
About Wilmington Farmers Market
The Wilmington Farmers Market Association is a nonprofit organization led by an all volunteer board dedicated to bringing a farmers market to Wilmington each summer. Founded in 2010, the Market has continued to grow each year while remaining focused on supporting local agriculture, small businesses, and community connections.
Located on the Wilmington Town Common across from Wilmington High School at 140 Middlesex Avenue, the Market provides a place where residents and visitors can shop for fresh produce, locally produced goods, and handcrafted items while enjoying a welcoming community atmosphere.
The Association’s mission is:
- To provide a place where community members can purchase fresh produce directly from local New England farmers.
- To provide a diverse and interesting selection of locally grown fruits and vegetables, and locally produced goods.
- To educate our community about the importance of sustainable agriculture.
- To partner with local organizations such as the library, senior venter, area health centers, and fitness organizations to promote education about healthy eating.
- To provide a self-sustaining social experience and foster a sense of community in Wilmington.
Organized by volunteers, the Wilmington Farmers Market continues to thrive thanks to the dedication of its board members, volunteers, vendors, sponsors, and community supporters.
