WILMINGTON, MA — Patricia Ann (Knott) Fenton, “Pattie”, age 75, of Wilmington, MA, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, at Winchester Hospital in Winchester, MA.
Pattie dedicated many years of service to the Town of Wilmington as a crossing guard, faithfully watching over students at Shawsheen Elementary School, Boutwell/West Intermediate School, and most recently Wilmington Middle School. She truly loved her work and deeply cherished the students, families, and staff she had the privilege of knowing throughout the years.
In addition to her role as a crossing guard, Pattie embraced many other jobs with pride and dedication. Over the years, she worked at Sweetheart Plastics, cleaned homes, worked at a local home daycare in town, and provided childcare for a family friend. No matter the role, Pattie gave her very best and took great pride in everything she did.
Pattie loved sharing stories with her family about the many people she met throughout her life. She spoke fondly of those she encountered each day and the familiar faces she came to know over the years. Always ready with a wave, a smile, and a friendly conversation, she was known for her warmth, dedication, and welcoming spirit. She made a lasting impact on everyone she met and will be remembered for the kindness and care she shared so generously.
A true people person, Pattie loved staying busy and connecting with others. She had friends from all walks of life and especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends, often gathering together over a cup of coffee at her home. She volunteered for many years with Boy Scouts Troop 136, creating lifelong friendships and treasured memories through family camping trips and annual fall visits to the Cape. She also loved crafting and took great pride in making thoughtful gifts for others.
Pattie had a special gift for connecting with everyone she met. Even during hospital and rehabilitation stays, her kindness, positivity, and love for her family continued to shine through.
Nothing brought Pattie more joy than her family. She was married to her beloved husband, Philip Sr., for 54 years, and the two shared a beautiful life together. They were inseparable, and after his passing, Pattie often spoke fondly of their many cherished memories.
She was deeply proud of her children: Philip Jr. and his wife Kerry, Lorilynn and her husband Joseph, and Michelle and her husband James. Pattie adored her five grandchildren—Tyler, Andrew, Nicholas, Madison, and Christopher—who lovingly knew her as “Nana” or “Nana Pat.” Her grandchildren meant everything to her, and she would do anything for each one of them.
From a young age, Pattie lovingly cared for her younger sister, Gail, and brother, Ronnie, after the loss of their mother—a responsibility she embraced with unwavering love and dedication. Her family always held a special place in her heart, including “Cricket” and her beloved furbaby grandson, “Brady”.
A loyal, outgoing, and devoted woman, Pattie fought bravely until the very end for the people she loved. She will be deeply missed for her phone calls, her advice, her laughter, and her ever-present listening ear. Pattie will be forever remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Funeral services for Pattie will be private.
