WILMINGTON, MA — Louise M. (Anastasi) DeCristoforo, age 75, a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away following a courageous battle with cancer on July 26, 2026.
Louise was born on April 1, 1951, in Boston, MA; she was the cherished daughter of the late John and Nancy (Esposito) Anastasi. She was raised in Saugus and graduated from Saugus High School. Following high school, Louise earned her Airline Service Secretarial Certificate.
In 1972, Louise married the love of her life, Joseph DeCristoforo. The couple lived in Winchester for a short time before settling in Wilmington, where they lovingly raised their two daughters, Lucia and Nancy. Louise was loving mother who embraced life with joy and enthusiasm and cherished the time she spent with her girls, creating many happy memories together.
Louise later returned to school and earned her certificate in nailcare. A talented manicurist, she proudly opened her own home-based business, “Thumbs Up.” Louise took great pride in caring for her clients and enjoyed keeping up with their lives and hearing about their families. She also worked at the front desk of the Courtyard Marriott in Woburn. With her warm, bubbly personality and genuine concern for others, Louise was a wonderful asset to the hotel. She cared deeply about the guests and always did her best to accommodate their every request. Following many years of dedicated service, Louise retired.
Louise and Joe shared a love of travel, especially their trips to St. Maarten. The island was their happy place, where they enjoyed relaxing on the beautiful beaches, visiting the casinos, and dining at their favorite restaurants. Louise also enjoyed trying her luck with scratch tickets and looked forward to casino trips.
Louise will be remembered for her vibrant, “full-of-life” personality. She was always ready for an adventure, especially if it included shopping. A true fashionista, Louise loved keeping up with the latest styles and trends. Above all, she was a beautiful and loving wife and mother who will be deeply missed by her family and all those who knew and loved her.
Louise was the beloved wife of Joseph DeCristoforo; devoted mother of Lucia DeCristoforo and her husband, James Furtado, of Tewksbury, and Nancy DeCristoforo and her fiancée, Stephen Parsons, of Holbrook; dear sister of Donna DeCotis of Rye, NH, and the late Salvatore Anastasi; loving aunt of Andrea Stanford and Ann Marie DeCotis; and cherished great-aunt of Rylee, Giovanni, and Brianna. Louise is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Monday, August 3rd, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m.
