HUDSON, NH — Leo A. Maison, 68, of Hudson, NH passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026, at Pheasant Wood Center in Peterborough, New Hampshire, after a courageous battle with ongoing heart and cerebrovascular complications.
Born on September 1, 1957, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Leo was raised in Wilmington, Massachusetts, where he graduated from Wilmington High School. From a young age, Leo possessed an incredible work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. He began his career cleaning windows and, through determination and hard work, built and owned a successful commercial cleaning business that he proudly operated until his health no longer allowed him to continue.
In June of 1997, Leo married the love of his life, Marian. Together they shared a beautiful marriage built on unwavering love, compassion, and partnership until Marian’s passing in July of 2024. The loss of Marian left a space in Leo’s heart that was never truly filled.
When Leo married Marian, he also embraced the role of stepfather to her two teenage children, Colleen and Kevin. Stepping into the lives of two teenagers is no small task, but Leo did so with patience, love, and acceptance. Over the years, he became much more than a stepfather; he became a constant source of support, encouragement, and pride. He never missed an opportunity to brag about Colleen and Kevin and celebrate all they accomplished.
Later in life, one of Leo’s greatest joys was becoming “Papa Leo.” His six grandchildren: Teagan, Aubrey, Jack, Aden, Owen, and Drew, brought great happiness to his life. He treasured every moment spent with them and loved watching them grow.
Leo was the definition of a kind and gentle soul. He would do anything for anyone and was known for his calm demeanor, and generous heart. It was rare to see Leo angry or flustered, which although may seem like an admirable quality, those who loved him often joked that this was both a blessing and a curse.
He lived a simple life and found joy in the little things. He had a lifelong love of model cars, never passed up peanut butter, enjoyed keeping up with the daily news, and could almost always answer the clues on the game show Jeopardy before the contestants. On occasion, he also enjoyed a small sip of blackberry brandy.
Leo will be remembered for the way he made people laugh, his kindness, generosity, and his selfless heart. He showed up for the people he loved, never asked for recognition, and made those around him feel cared for, simply by being himself. He has made such a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him, and created a legacy that will live on through his family and friends, who loved him dearly.
The family Leo leaves behind was the greatest source of joy and purpose in his life.
Leo is survived by his loving family including his daughter, Colleen Parrington and her fiancé, Matthew Fraser of Manchester, NH; his son, Kevin Parrington and his wife, Sarah, of Diamondhead, MS; his grandchildren: Teagan, Aubrey, Jack, Aden, Owen, and Drew; his sisters: Patty Deyoung and her husband, Keith, of Virginia, Paula Hoyt and her husband, Bob, of New Hampshire, Sue Wolgamuth and her husband, Gerard, of Virginia, and Pamela Deveau of New Hampshire; his brother: Joseph Maison and his wife, Cheryl of Massachusetts; his sister-in-law: Rebecca Maison, of Massachusetts; his brother-in-law: Larry O’Sullivan of Florida, and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Leo was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marian Maison; his parents, Joe and Mabel Maison; and his brother, David Maison.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that Leo is once again reunited with Marian, the love of his life. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of all who knew him.
Family and Friends are invited to attend Leo’s memorial mass to honor his life at 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at St. Pius X Church, in Manchester, NH. The interment will take place at a later date, in a private ceremony for the family. We deeply appreciate your love and support during this time.
