Below is an obituary from Tazzini Funeral Home:

LUDLOW, MA — Marilyn “Monroe” P. Santos, 92, passed away peacefully at home on July 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Marilyn was the beloved wife of the late Avelino “Al” Santos. Together, they lovingly raised a blended family. She was a devoted mother to Allison Arillotta (Nick), Steven Crowell Sr., her late son George Crowell Jr., and her stepchildren Lola Rex (the late Dennis), Richard Santos (Annmarie), and Darlene Swisczc (Louis).

She was a loving grandmother to Alyssa Martins, Brandon Martins, Steven Crowell Jr. (Michelle), Cody Crowell (Eva), Matthew Riedinger (Kyle), Patrick Rex, Tiffiny Decaro (Michael), and Ricky Santos (Michelle), and a proud great-grandmother of Mackenzie and Kaci Crowell.

Marilyn is also survived by many nieces, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish her memory.

Born in Wilmington, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Violet (Nary) Duggan. Marilyn moved to Western Massachusetts in the 1960s, eventually settling in Ludlow, where she made her home for 56 years. She spent many years working in retail at Lechmere and later at Walgreens.

She enjoyed crocheting, baking, collecting lighthouses, listening to music, and traveling with her husband’s band on the Polka Circuit. Above all, Marilyn treasured the time she spent with her family and the many memories they created together.

Her family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Hampden Post Acute Care and Baystate Hospice for the compassionate care and support they provided.

Family and friends are invited to visit, on Tuesday, July 21st, 8 a.m., at Tazzini Funeral Home, 22 Locust Street in Springfield, proceeding to Marilyn’s 10 a.m. Liturgy of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Springfield. Burial will follow at the old, Island Pond Cemetery across from Haviland Pond in Ludlow.
