Needleworkers at Night

These nighttime sessions are perfect for anyone who does any kind of needle craft but can’t make it to Needleworkers during the day! Drop-in.
Library Field Trip: Wright-Locke Farms Tour & Cooking Demo
Monday, July 20, 7pm
Join us at Wright-Locke Farm for a behind-the-scenes tour with Farm Chef Kelcy and Sous Chef Beckett, where you’ll learn all about the inner workings of this organic farm. After the tour, guests will enjoy a cooking demo featuring freshly harvested herb pesto, along with a refreshing summer drink demonstration. Please note that we will be meeting at the farm for this event, not the library. Registration required.
VIRTUAL- Celebrating America’s 250th with Garcia Rich: The Black Experience of the Revolution
Monday, July 20, 7pm
‘Herstorian’ Gracia Rich will be discussing the extraordinary efforts of Black Americans whose invaluable contributions during the Revolutionary War helped bring about U.S. Independence. The Wilmington Wellness Coalition, in partnership with Wilmington Memorial Library, offers free, confidential sessions at the library for any library patron who may need support. Meet with Samantha Cavanaugh, the Town of Wilmington’s social worker, for help with mental health, substance use, housing, food insecurity, transportation, applications, caregiver support, and more. The first hour will be for drop-ins on a first-come, first-served basis, and the second hour will be appointment based in 20-minute time slots.
Needleworkers
Friday, July 24, 10am-12pm
This is a social group for those who do any kind of needle craft. Bring your knitting, crocheting, quilting, etc. and enjoy conversation and camaraderie. Drop-in.
Plant Swap
Saturday, July 25, 10:30-11:30am
Get a new-to-you propagated cutting or rooted plant! No green thumb of your own? Bring plants to rehome! Bring a plant to swap, donate plants to rehome, or simply stop by to browse. Plant donations can be dropped off beginning Friday, July 24 (please, no earlier). No plant donation is required to take home a new-to-you plant—while supplies last! All Ages. Drop-in.
Worlds Within Words

Family Frolic- Evening Stroll

Unwind before bedtime with Ms. Michelle on a leisurely stroll through the Wildwood Cemetery. On our stroll, we’ll take in the sights and sounds of nature and look for crepuscular critters! We’ll meet up outside in the Peggy Kane Reading Garden. Please dress for walking comfort and the weather! Families of all ages welcome. The stroll will be cancelled in the event of severe weather. Summer Storytime for Ages 2-6

This program includes books, rhymes, music and movement. Summer Storytime will take place in the Stewart Room on the second floor of the library, however if the weather permits, we may move Summer Storytime outdoors to the Peggy Kane Reading Garden behind the library. Ages 2-6. Registration required.
VR Open Play Gaming with One Up Games
Tuesday, July 21, 5-8pm (1-hour sessions)
Explore virtual worlds and popular games with One Up Games during this open gaming session! Sign up for an hour of gaming time between 5-8pm. Grades 6-12. Registration required.
AP Statistics Prep
Wednesday, July 22, 4pm
Prepare for the upcoming AP year by reviewing some fundamental concepts from algebra and accessing a sneak peek at the material. These sessions taught by a current Statistics student at Syracuse University will set you up for success in the class and on the exam. This session will focus on AP Statistics.Grades 9-12. Join picture book author Josh Funk on Wednesday, August 5th at 6:30pm as he discusses his popular books and what it’s like being a picture book author! There will be a Q&A, book sales, a book signing, and meet-and-greet. Josh Funk is a software engineer and author of books including the Lady Pancake & Sir French Toast series, How to Code a Sandcastle, The Dino Door and many more! Summer Reading
The Summer Reading Program is here! You will be able to register and log your reading online at wilmlibrary.beanstack.org or grab a paper log at the library. Throughout the summer you can collect prizes and raffle tickets by reading and filling out a bingo card. This year’s program will be running from June 20th to August 13th, is for all ages, and has the theme: Plant a Seed, Read!
