READING, MA — George Arthur Gammon, Jr. sadly passed away on the morning of June 28, 2026. He was 79 years old.
He was born in Winthrop, Massachusetts on November 15, 1946, to George Arthur Gammon and Helen Louise Gammon. He was an older brother to Linda Jeanne Gammon and Sandra Lee Gammon.
George graduate from Stoneham High School in 1965. Afterwards, he served in the United States Air Force as a jet engine and airplane mechanic from February 23, 1966, until December 4, 1969, when he was honorably discharged. He was married to Stephanie Raye Symonds on July 1, 1967. George was the father to Jennifer Dawn Gammon, and Jeffrey Hayden Gammon. After his military service, he worked at the Bank of Boston (later becoming Bank of America), until his retirement. Afterwards, he worked as a school bus driver for the Town of Wilmington, Massachusetts until this present day.
George is survived by his wife Stephanie, his daughter Jennifer, his son Jeffrey, his sister Sandra, and his granddaughter Olivia Rose Castaneda, as well as many nieces and nephews.
