TEWKSBURY, MA — Market Basket has been named the 2026-2027 best private consumer products company to work for by U.S. News & World Report, a global authority on rankings and consumer advice.

Market Basket topped the rankings of nearly 1,100 privately held consumer products companies with at least 5,000 employees across 14 industries. Companies did not submit data, apply or pay a fee to be considered, according to U.S. News.

Casassa said the rankings speak to the company’s focus on the satisfaction and retention of the people who drive the success of the $8.5 billion company, not only associates in the stores but also the workers who drive the trucks, and staff the warehouses and the Tewksbury headquarters.

U.S. News’ methodology relies on in-depth analysis of publicly available data, including employee reviews, court records, financial strength and governance. It looks at quality of pay and benefits, work/life balance and flexibility, job and company stability, safety, career opportunities and professional development and belonging and esteem.
