VIRTUAL- Celebrating America’s 250th: Iron in the Water

Monday, July 6, 7pm

Even before the fighting at Lexington and Concord ended, both sides sought control of the Hudson River. Historian Kiersten Marcil explores primary sources on the Montgomery Chain (1777) and the Great Chain at West Point (1778). Please note: this program will be recorded. All registrants will receive the recording via email within 48 hours of the program. Registration required.

The Wilmington Wellness Coalition, in partnership with Wilmington Memorial Library, offers free, confidential sessions at the library for any library patron who may need support. Meet with Samantha Cavanaugh, the Town of Wilmington’s social worker, for help with mental health, substance use, housing, food insecurity, transportation, applications, caregiver support, and more. The first hour will be for drop-ins on a first-come, first-served basis, and the second hour will be appointment based in 20-minute time slots.

Drop-In Chess Night

This is an evening for anyone looking to play chess with others! Please note, no instruction will be provided during this casual meetup. Some boards provided. Drop-in.

Craft & Chat

Wednesday, July 8, 6pm

Enjoy making a craft while socializing with others! This craft group meets the second Wednesday of the month at 6pm. Featured Craft: Wool Felted Bee.All craft supplies will be provided. Registration required.

Fun & Function of iPhone

Thursday, July 9, 2:30pm

Whether you’re new to the iPhone or looking to unlock its hidden potential, this session will cover essential tips, tricks, and features to make your device both practical and enjoyable. Registration required.

French Conversation Group

Thursday, July 9, 7pm

Join us to speak French with other Francophiles! This is a new monthly group for anyone who loves to speak and listen to French. Join volunteer group leader Nathalie Hayduk for this stress-free, low-key group to speak French on a more regular basis. This group will meet on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 7pm. Please note that this is not a French Class. Registration required.

FIELD TRIP: Blueberry Tour at Smolak Farms

Friday, July 10, 9-11am

Learn all about blueberries at Smolak Farms! Enjoy fantastic views of the farm from a hayride tour and get an education about the special conditions it takes to grow each blueberry plant. Please note that we will meet at Smolak Farms in North Andover, MA – not at the library. Registration required.

Wilmington Community Playgroup

The Community Teamwork Family Resource Network is here weekly! Join CTI for a community playgroup where we’ll work on Early Literacy skills and much, much more! Ask CTI about any resources they can help provide for you and your family. Ages 0-6. Registration required.

Summer Storytime for Ages 2-6

Tuesday, July 7, 10am

This program includes books, rhymes, music and movement. Summer Storytime will take place in the Stewart Room on the second floor of the library, however if the weather permits, we may move Summer Storytime outdoors to the Peggy Kane Reading Garden behind the library. Ages 2-6. Registration required.

Teen Decoden Phone Cases & Keychains

Tuesday, July 7, 6pm

Try out this maximalist Japanese style of crafting by decorating a phone case or keychain with frosting-like glue and sparkly accessories! Registrants who sign up before July 1st will get to decorate a phone case, for all others, keychains will be provided! Grades 6-12. Registration required.

Baby Time

Thursday, July 9, 10am

Join us at our Baby Time! This program includes books, rhymes, music and movement. Ages 0-23 months. Registration required.

Teen Community Paint

Thursday, July 9, 3:30pm

Help us decorate the Teen Room by collaborating on large canvases that will be hung up on our moveable gallery wall! Grades 6-12. Registration required.

Music with Dara

Friday, July 10, 10am

With keyboard, felt board, and finger puppets, Dara weaves songs (old and new favorites) and creative movement for a fun-filled musical program!Ages 2-5, siblings welcome. Registration required.

Pottery Workshop with Mudflat Studio

Saturday, July 11, 2-4pm

Learn pottery basics with Mudflat Studio! We’ll celebrate our summer reading theme, “Plant a Seed, Read,” by making seed balls, then creating a small plant pot with a tray! Grades 6-12. Registration required.

Summer Reading

The Summer Reading Program is here! You will be able to register and log your reading online at wilmlibrary.beanstack.org or grab a paper log at the library. Throughout the summer you can collect prizes and raffle tickets by reading and filling out a bingo card. This year’s program will be running from June 20th to August 13th, is for all ages, and has the theme: Plant a Seed, Read!
