Ride LRTA Buses FOR FREE Through September 30, 2026, New Wilmington Route Coming Soon

Below is an announcement from the Lowell Regional Transit Authority: 

LOWELL, MA — The Lowell Regional Transit Authority has extended its fare free pilot program through September 30, 2026.

Take advantage of this opportunity to save on transit costs for travel around the region.

LRTA’s Route 12 bus travels from Lowell (Kennedy Center), through Tewksbury (Route 38) into Wilmington (Wilmington Train Station). The bus runs every hour. See the route HERE.

LRTA’s new Route 21 bus will reportedly start on July 6, 2026. The bus will travel from the MBTA Commuter Rail station on Main Street to Burlington, with stops at Lahey Hospital and the Burlington Mall. More details will be announced soon.
