Below is an obituary from Nichols Funeral Home:
WILMINGTON, MA — Corinne F. MacMullen (Smith), age 86, a longtime resident of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at home on June 17, 2026, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born on July 7, 1939, in Roxbury, Massachusetts, Corinne was the cherished daughter of the late Lincoln and Elizabeth (Gantley) Smith. She spent her early years in Roxbury and Cambridge before moving with her family to Somerville at the age of 13. Raised and educated in Somerville, Corinne formed many lifelong friendships and met the love of her life, Ronald A. MacMullen.
Corinne and Ron were married on September 15, 1957, and shared nearly 69 years of devoted marriage. Together they built a loving home and raised a beautiful family. In 1965, they settled in Wilmington, where they became active members of the community and created a lifetime of memories with family and friends.
Family was the center of Corinne’s life. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, adoring grandmother, and proud great-grandmother. She treasured holidays, birthdays, and special celebrations, always welcoming loved ones into her home. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she delighted in gathering family around the table, sharing meals, exchanging gifts, and watching the excitement of the children. Her greatest joy came from bringing people together and creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Corinne also enjoyed traveling with family and friends, especially her trips to Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and Foxwoods. She always looked forward to those adventures and loved the chance to “try her luck.”
Prior to her retirement, Corinne worked for many years at Dynamic Research Company. She was known for her loyalty, dependability, strong work ethic, and the friendships she formed with her coworkers throughout her career.
Corinne will be remembered as a truly wonderful woman whose kindness, warmth, and sense of humor touched everyone she met. She loved deeply and unconditionally, and her family and friends will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she leaves behind.
Corinne was the beloved wife of Ronald A. MacMullen. She was the devoted mother of Ronald MacMullen Jr. and his wife, Darlene, of Salem, NH; Debbie Fox and her late husband, Jimmy, of Wilmington; Kenneth MacMullen and his wife, Elaine, of Tewksbury; and Sandra Campbell and her husband, Scott, of Fitzwilliam, NH.
She was the loving “Nana” of Ron, Alicia, Danielle, Melissa, Christopher, Katelyn, and Julie, and the proud “Great Nans” of Mason, Emma, Jaxon, Harper, Evan, Cameron, Corinna, and James.
Corinne was the dear sister of the late Walter Smith, Lincoln “Sonny” Smith, Albert Smith, and Cora. She is also survived by her extended MacMullen family, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather for Visiting Hours on Monday, June 22nd, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Nichols Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 12:00 noon. Interment will take place at Wildwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Corinne’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Corinne’s legacy of love, laughter, generosity, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
