This book group discusses contemporary books, both fiction and non-fiction, led by Library Associate Rebecca. Please stop by the library to pick up a copy of the featured book. This month’s featured book is Everything is Tuberculosis by John Green.
Needleworkers at Night

VIRTUAL: Celebrating America’s 250th: “Boston, 1776”- with author J.D. Dickey
Monday, June 22, 7pm
Relive the chaos and courage of the American Revolution’s capital city while meeting those who led the fight in the nation’s War of Independence. Upon America’s 250th anniversary, Boston, 1776 portrays the Cradle of Liberty and the American Revolution as never before: raw, radical, and roaring with life. Please note: this program will be recorded. All registrants will receive the recording via email within 48 hours of the program.
Connect with a Social Worker

The Wilmington Wellness Coalition, in partnership with Wilmington Memorial Library, offers free, confidential sessions at the library for any library patron who may need support. Meet with Samantha Cavanaugh, the Town of Wilmington’s social worker, for help with mental health, substance use, housing, food insecurity, transportation, applications, caregiver support, and more. The first hour will be for drop-ins on a first-come, first-served basis, and the second hour will be appointment based in 20-minute time slots.
Field Trip: Stevens-Coolidge House & Gardens

Join us for a guided tour of a former farm that became an early-20th-century estate, where a newly expanded array of bountiful gardens and plantings complements a gracious and refined home. Please note that we will be meeting at Stevens-Coolidge House & Gardens, not at the library.
Needleworkers

This is a social group for those who do any kind of needle craft. Bring your knitting, crocheting, quilting, etc. and enjoy conversation and camaraderie. Drop-in.

The Community Teamwork Family Resource Network is here weekly! Join CTI for a community playgroup where we’ll work on Early Literacy skills and much, much more! Ask CTI about any resources they can help provide for you and your family. Ages 0-6.
Reading with Chickens
Tuesday, June 23, 10am
Join Land’s Sake Farm and meet their chicken friends! This program includes a chicken-themed story time and educational games about chicken behavior and anatomy. The highlight of the program is the Chicken Circle, where youth are able to touch and interact with live chickens. Recommended for ages 2.5-7 years, accompanied by a caregiver
Felted Rainbow Patches- with Pop Up Art School

Celebrate Pride Month by crafting felted rainbow patches to add to bags or clothes with Pop Up Art School! Pop Up Art School will show you how to use a barbed needle and wool roving to make this cool accessory. Needle felting is fun and easier than it looks! Grades 6-12
Teen Resin Dice Workshop
Thursday, June 25, 6:30pm
Join us to make gaming dice with UV resin! This will involve mixing, coloring, and setting resin with ultraviolet light, then painting. We will be using UV resin, glitter, mica powder, and paint to decorate each die. Attendees will be able to make at least one die, and depending on supplies, may be able to make more with time permitting.Grades 6-12
Big Wheels
Friday, June 26, 10am
Check out fire engines, construction vehicles, police cars and more! Climb inside and ask their operators questions. Thanks to the Town of Wilmington’s Departments of Public Works, Fire, and Police for making this event possible. Be sure to stop by the Library/DPW table to enter into DPW’s ride-on kids vehicle raffle! The first 100 kids to stop by the table will also receive a voucher for a free slush from Kona-Ice! All ages, located in the Wildwood St. Parking, adjacent to the library parking lot.

Summer Reading
The Summer Reading Program is here! You will be able to register and log your reading online at wilmlibrary.beanstack.org or grab a paper log at the library. Throughout the summer you can collect prizes and raffle tickets by reading and filling out a bingo card. This year’s program will be running from June 20th to August 13th, is for all ages, and has the theme: Plant a Seed, Read!
