OBITUARY: William C. (Bill) Nolan, 82

Below is an obituary from Nichols Funeral Home:

WILMINGTON, MA — It is with deep love and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Charles Nolan, age 82, of Wilmington, who passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 4, 2026, at Care One in Wilmington.

Bill was born on October 1, 1943. He was the beloved son of Louis and Francis (Baldwin) Nolan and brother to Robert Nolan.

Bill will always be remembered for his deep love of family, both immediate and extended, and friends, and for his warmth and kindness to all. He was never happier than when surrounded by family at gatherings – the bigger the better – or at events for his grandchildren where their friends and parents were always excited to see “Pop” and catch up with him. He was an adventurous soul who loved to travel. He spent many years as a cross-country driver until he settled down in California to manage the company he drove for. He spent several years living on his boat which he would take out often for trips along the coast. After his move back east, he continued his adventures with cruises, trips abroad, and road trips around New England.

Bill was the cherished father of Lee-Ellen Sturtz and her husband Dan Sturtz of Littleton, Andrea Gayman and her husband Jeff Gayman of Needham, loving “Pop” to Evan and Chloe Sturtz, and Ryan and Ava Gayman, treasured friend to Kate and Paul Severino and their daughter Cassandra Bettencourt, her husband Dan Bettencourt and their children Nash, Knox and Shaw and doting uncle to Keith and Dawn-Marie Nolan and great-uncle to Makayla Nolan. Bill is further survived by many dear cousins and friends.

Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Service at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte 62), Wilmington on Thursday, June 11 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting hours will be held at the Funeral home on Wednesday, June 10th from 4-7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations in Bill’s name may be made to the American Stroke Foundation, 6405 Metcalf Ave., Suite 214, Overland Park, KS 66202 or online at americanstroke.org
