Cell Phone Policy, Busing, Student Handbook Changes, Special Education & More On Agenda For May 27 School Committee Meeting

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington School Committee meets this Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 6:30pm in Hearing Room at the Wilmington Town Hall/School Administration Building (146 Middlesex Avenue).

There are some noteworthy items on Wednesday night’s agenda, including:

— The School Committee will hear from the High School and Middle School Principals regarding the proposed 2026-2027 student handbooks.

— The School Committee will vote on a new cell phone policy for the district, as well as receive an update on its implementation.

— The School Committee will receive an update on student transportation from the district’s Director of Transportation.

— The School Committee will receive presentations from Wilmington High School seniors regarding senior internships and senior exploration projects.

— The School Committee will receive its annual update from the Wilmington SEPAC (Special Parent Advisory Council).

— The School Committee will consider accepting $7,658 in technology grants from the Wilmington Educational Foundation.

— The School Committee will consider approving some policy changes, including to the Public Participation at School Committee Meetings policy.

— The School Committee will also receive an update from its High School representatives, as well as subcommittee reports from members, and public comments from the audience.
