Below is an obituary from Nichols Funeral Home:
WILMINGTON, MA — Lorraine Nata Vatcher (née Magaletta), age 77, of Wilmington, MA, Boston, passed away peacefully in Florida on May 10, 2026.
Lorraine was born on August 31, 1948, in Boston, MA; she was the beloved daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Siracusa) Magaletta. She graduated from Saugus High School in June 1966.
Lorraine shared a devoted and loving marriage with William “Bill” Vatcher, whom she married on July 17, 1966. This July, they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary — a beautiful testament to a lifetime of love, partnership, and family.
In 1978, Bill and Lorraine made their home in Wilmington, where she became known for her warmth, kindness, and creative spirit. Lorraine had a passion for sewing and crafting, enjoyed watching classic black-and-white movies, and loved traveling with her family. Some of her happiest moments were spent relaxing and making memories aboard their boat at their house at Ossipee Lake.
Above all, Lorraine cherished her family. She was the loving mother of Tina Scanlon and her late husband Stephen Scanlon, the late Lisa Vatcher, and Sally Cullivan . She was also a proud and devoted Grammie to five beloved grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life. She was the dear sister of the late Josephine Igualdo and Geraldine Magaletta.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Tuesday May 19th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a graveside service at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington, MA.
