This book group discusses contemporary books, both fiction and non-fiction, led by Library Associate Rebecca. Please stop by the library to pick up a copy of the featured book. This month’s featured book is Ghost Wall by Sarah Moss.
Beginner Cross Stitch
Monday, May 18, 6pm
New to needlework? Head of Circulation Lisa will teach you the basics to start your first project! Materials and pattern will be provided.
Needleworkers at Night
Monday, May 18, 6-8pm
These nighttime sessions are perfect for anyone who does any kind of needle craft but can’t make it to Needleworkers during the day! Drop-in.
Connect with a Social Worker
Tuesday, May 19, 10am-12pm
The Wilmington Wellness Coalition, in partnership with Wilmington Memorial Library, offers free, confidential sessions at the library for any library patron who may need support. Meet with Samantha Cavanaugh, the Town of Wilmington’s social worker, for help with mental health, substance use, housing, food insecurity, transportation, applications, caregiver support, and more. The first hour will be for drop-ins on a first-come, first-served basis, and the second hour will be appointment based in 20-minute time slots.
Novel Ideas

Teen DIY Painted Book Edges

Manga Tryouts

Have a say in manga purchased for the teen collection with this club! During each meeting, we’ll sample 1st volumes of different manga and vote on whether it should be added to WML’s collection. Grades 6-12
Playful Pathways: Money, Money, Money

Join in on all the fun of our Money and Jobs unit! Kids will learn about money, counting, and more at this Playful Pathways event. They’ll even make a piggy bank! Ages 0-5

Summer Reading is Just Around the Corner!
The Summer Reading Program is quickly approaching! You will be able to register and log your reading online at wilmlibrary.beanstack.org or grab a paper log at the library. Throughout the summer you can collect prizes and raffle tickets by reading and filling out a bingo card. This year’s program will be running from June 20th to August 13th, with the theme: Plant a Seed, Read!
May is Membership Month!
Your library needs Friends like you, and what better time to join than membership month? Through the membership fees and other fundraising efforts, the Friends provide supplemental funding for the Wilmington Memorial Library. By spearheading the Annual Jewelry Sale, Book Store Next Door and more, the Friends have helped fund numerous initiatives!
