PEABODY, MA — Bishop Fenwick High School is pleased to recognize the 137 students from Senior, Junior and Sophomore years who have earned their place as a National Honor Society member for 2026. Among the recipients was Aimee Keohane, a Junior from Wilmington.
The awards were presented at a ceremony this past Wednesday evening where recipients were celebrated by the school and their families.
Students hailed from 30 local communities, and they represent the founding pillars of the organization – scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
About the National Honor Society
Since its establishment in 1962, the Bishop Fenwick High School Chapter of the National Honor Society has dedicated itself to promoting the organization’s foundational pillars of scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
The following are minimum requirements for membership:
– Scholarship: Students must hold a weighted cumulative scholastic average of at least 3.7. This will be raised to a minimum of 3.9, starting with the class of 2029.
– Service: Students must demonstrate a commitment to voluntary service made to the school or wider community, without compensation and with a courteous and enthusiastic spirit.
– Leadership: Students must exemplify effective and inspiring leadership through initiative, reliability, problem-solving, optimism, and active involvement in school activities.
– Character: Students must model strong moral integrity and an overall commitment to ethical behavior, fostering such virtues as respect, honesty, and selflessness, among others.
Sophomore, junior, and senior students who meet the above requirements are invited to apply each spring. Their membership is evaluated and determined annually by a faculty committee.
