WILMINGTON, MA — Sharon J. Dunnett (Hill), age 59, a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts.
Born on April 8, 1967, Sharon was the beloved daughter of Ann Marie (Ciccarelli) Hill and the late Arthur L. Hill. She was raised and educated in Wilmington and was a proud graduate of Wilmington High School.
Sharon’s greatest joy in life was her family. She loved being a devoted mother, spending countless hours supporting her children at their sporting events and school activities. She was a cherished “Bama” to her grandchildren, whom she adored deeply. Sharon also loved entertaining, bringing family and friends together with her warmth, laughter, and incredible cooking—especially during summer gatherings around the grill.
For many years, Sharon served as the head of transportation for the Wilmington School System, where she was known for her dedication and commitment to the community.
She will be fondly remembered for her unwavering love of family and friends, as well as her affection for her beloved pets.
Sharon was the devoted wife of Lorens “Butch” Dunnett. She was the loving mother of Samantha Dunnett; the late Scott Dunnett and his wife Rebecca Dunnett; and Steven Dunnett and his wife Jesika Dunnett. She was the proud grandmother of Gio, Khristian, Bianca, Makenzie “Kenzie,” Avery, and Zachary “Zak.”
She was the dear sister of Sandra Sartori and her husband Chris; sister-in-law of George “Keith” Dunnett and Laurie Dunnett; and niece of Ed and Mary Ciccarelli. Sharon is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
In accordance with her wishes, funeral services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sharon’s memory may be made to MSPCA at Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
