BILLERICA, MA — Peter Scott Allen, 70, of Billerica, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 19, 2026, in Beverly, MA. He was born on August 16, 1955, in Boston, and grew up in a large, close-knit, and often on-the-move family from Somerville.
After attending Billerica schools, where he lettered in multiple sports, Peter further developed his artistic talent at Bunker Hill Community College—the only member of his family to attend college.
Peter was a kind man, always inclined to protect those more vulnerable than himself. He never punched down. Articulate and personable, he made friends easily. He loved R&B music and danced with fluid grace. Despite facing difficult challenges later in life, Peter sought understanding through expressing himself as a devoted and talented artist.
Over the years, Peter held a variety of jobs, including at the old Schrafft Candy factory—a job fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, who delighted in the Junior Mints he shared with them.
Although Peter longed for a meaningful career and a lasting relationship, those hopes were not realized. Though circumstances at times kept him apart from those who cared about him, he remained ever present in their hearts and thoughts.
Peter was predeceased by his parents, William and Jean (Porter) Allen, and siblings Jean Leach, Neil, and Christina. He is survived by siblings Bruce, Richard, Rosalie, Susan Rice, Linda ‘Sandy’ Clark, Thomas, Deborah Pierce, and David, along with many nieces and nephews who remember him with affection.
Peter’s family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Tania Arroyo and the staff at Northshore MIMI.
An interment service will be held at Fox Hill Cemetery in Billerica, MA, on May 9 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in support of Northshore MIMI at eliotchs.org/donate or Eliot Community Human Services 125 Hartwell Avenue Lexington, MA 02421.
