WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Kellie Alessandro as the Assistant Director of Special Education.
Ms. Alessandro brings five years of administrative experience in special education. She currently serves as a District Special Education Team Chair Administrator at Wilmington Middle School. Prior to this role, she was a Special Education Administrator at Methuen High School, where she oversaw day-to-day operations in collaboration with the Program Coordinator. Earlier in her career, she worked as an Autism Resource Room teacher, providing comprehensive services for students in grades K–8 in Methuen Public Schools.
Ms. Alessandro began her career in out-of-district settings as a special education classroom teacher, with Merrimack Special Education Collaborative and SEEM Collaborative.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Education in Special Education from Salem State College. She also holds a Massachusetts Educator License as a Special Education Administrator (All levels-Professional), Moderate Disabilities (K- 8-Professional) and Early Childhood (Pre-K-2 Initial).
With experience spanning grades K-12, Ms. Alessandro is committed to building organizational capacity through mentorship and fostering a culture of continuous professional development. Her leadership style reflects a personable, team-oriented approach combined with strong organizational skills required for complex educational environments.
