Below is an obituary from Nichols Funeral Home:
WILMINGTON, MA — Andre T. Harris, age 76, of Wilmington, MA, passed away unexpectedly on April 25, 2026, at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA.
Born on September 19, 1949, in St. Louis, Missouri, Andre was the beloved son of Anna P. (Sims) Hess of St. Louis, MO, and the late Edward Harris. He was raised and educated in St. Louis as part of a large and loving family.
Following his graduation, Andre enlisted in the United States Air Force on February 19, 1968, during the Vietnam War. He proudly served as an Airman, completing several training programs and serving with the Civil Engineer Squadron (SAC). In recognition of his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Andre was honorably discharged in October 1970 and returned home to his family.
Andre had a lifelong thirst for knowledge and continued his education throughout his life. Twenty-one years ago, he moved to Massachusetts, where he built a meaningful career as a massage therapist in Boston. He truly enjoyed his work and formed lasting connections with his clients.
Andre will be fondly remembered as a kind and genuine person with a warm personality and a bright, welcoming smile. He cherished time spent with family and friends and took great joy in his favorite nickname, “the Grinch.” His presence brought laughter and comfort to those around him, and he will be deeply missed.
Andre was the beloved companion of Cheryl Harris of Wilmington and the devoted father of Dasha, Tyrone, Femi, and Akeem. He was the brother of the late Gregory Harris, Michael Harris, Carlton Harris, Mark Hess, Rosalyn (Hess) DeClue, and Lisamarie (Hess) Ervin. He was a loving “Uncle Andre” to Tanika, Tanyva, Tanyla, Nyeema, and Tru, and is also survived by a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Service on Monday, May 4th at 1:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Route 62), Wilmington, MA. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Veterans Lot at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
