RACE FOR THE SIXTH: Tram For Congress Releases New Video: “Putting You First”

Below is a press release from the Tram Nguyen for Congress campaign:

ANDOVER, MA — State Representative Tram Nguyen recently released a new video, “Putting You First” highlighting how she will fight on behalf of the people of the Sixth Congressional District in Washington, D.C.

As Tram says in the newly-released video, “I am not afraid to stand up to big guys. I’ll stand up to the corporations that try to influence our elections. I’ll stand up to the policies that put big business profits before the companies that drive the economies of our communities… I’ll stand up to those who put their own personal interests first while in public office by investing in stocks and trading based on insider knowledge… I’ve spent my career standing up for people who have been ignored or underestimated. In Congress, I will continue to do that … always fight to put you first.”

“As State Representative, Tram has never shied away from taking bold actions that support our Massachusetts communities and uplift working families,” said Campaign Manager Annika Jensen. “Whether she is pushing for corporations to pay their fair share, addressing the threats of climate change impacting our communities, or lowering costs for families and business owners across the District, Tram knows what it takes to fight, and win.”

About Tram T. Nguyen

State Representative Tram Nguyen has overcome tough challenges her entire life. At just five years old, Tram came to the United States as a refugee after her family fled Vietnam’s authoritarian regime with only $100, a few suitcases, and a dream. She is the first in her family to graduate from college, earning degrees from Tufts University, Northeastern School of Law, and the Harvard Kennedy School.

Before entering public service, Tram served as an attorney at Greater Boston Legal Services, where she led the Civil Legal Assistance for Victims of Crime program. She stood up for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, veterans, immigrants, low-wage workers, and people with disabilities—people who needed not just a lawyer but a relentless advocate. In that role, Tram became a member of UAW Local 2320.

In 2018, Tram took on a deeply entrenched Republican incumbent and won by ten points, making history as the first Vietnamese American woman ever elected to public office in Massachusetts. Since then, she has served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives as a bold champion for climate action, affordable housing, workers’ rights, and economic opportunity for all.

Tram Nguyen’s journey from refugee to state leader is a testament to the power of resilience, the promise of opportunity, and the belief that when we fight for one another, we all rise together.
