WILMINGTON, MA — Patricia E. (Baack) Rash “Patty”, age 60, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on April 16th, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Patty was born on February 05, 1966 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Gerald A. Baack and Joan L. (Sachs) Baack. During her Upper Dublin high school years she excelled as a swimmer, and spent several summers abroad in Germany. She attended West Chester University where she fell in love in her first semester and married her college sweetheart Bill. In college she was active in Intervarsity Christian Fellowship and graduated with a Liberal Arts Degree. After marriage and the birth of her three very healthy children, she grew a successful career with Fidelity Investments as a financial advisor, eventually retiring from the industry during the mid stages of her battle with cancer.
Patty was a faithful and supportive spouse to her husband and family. She was diligent in the responsibilities of managing the home, and she was a beloved friend to many people. She maintained several key relationships with friends from high school, and was an insightful, strong, and supportive friend to many people during her adult years. She is regarded by many as a source of inspiration, wisdom, strength, and light. Wherever she went, she would light up the room with her bright smile. She was brave in the face of battles, and almost always leaned into the fight. She was a forgiving soul, who exercised love and a life of thoughtfulness to many.
Patty is survived by her loving husband William “Bill” Rash of Wilmington, MA. She was the devoted mother of Anthony Rash and his wife Christine Copp of Dallas, TX, Stephen Shepherdson of Northern Virginia and Rebekah Rash of Dallas, TX; as well as, the beloved grandmother of Ezra and Mila. Patty was the cherished daughter of Joan (Sachs) Baack and the late Gerald Baack and the loving sister of Karen Baack and David Baack. Patty is survived by her other extended family members and friends whose lives she has touched over the years.
Services for Patty will be held privately. In lieu of flowers Patty’s family has requested that those wishing to honor Patty’s memory do so by taking a loved one out for a special meal in her honor, or donating in Patty’s memory to Metastatic Breast Cancer Alliance or METAvivor.
