Below is an announcement from the Wilmington Department of Veterans’ Services:
WILMINGTON, MA — Join us for the Memorial Day Parade! Beginning at Market Basket, the Parade will go South on Main St., take a left onto Church St. and continue on Middlesex Ave. to the Wildwood Cemetery where there will be a ceremony honoring the Veterans who are no longer with us.
1. This year’s parade is: Monday May 25, 2026 (rain or shine).
2. The staging area for the parade is the parking lot of Market Basket on Main Street (Route 38). For adult units only and Bands!
3. All children’s units (for example, Cub and Boy Scouts, Brownies and Girl Scouts and other youth clubs etc.) will stage at the Wilmington House of Pizza parking lot and will be inserted into the parade in the proper division by a Parade Marshal as the parade proceeds past their location.
4. All parade participants and entries must arrive at the staging area no later than 9:45AM. The parade will step off onto Main Street at 10:00 AM SHARP!
5. Any children who ride on floats must be supervised by an adequate number of adults.
6. All fixtures on floats must be properly secured in order that riders may safely hold on during movement of the float.
7. In the interest of safety, and due to the size of the floats, children are not allowed to walk alongside the float entries during the parade.
8. Throwing candy or any other items into the crowd is strictly prohibited!
9. Handing out flyers or any advertising material is prohibited!
10. Any entry deemed inappropriate, in the opinion of the Director of Veterans’ Services, will not be allowed to participate in the parade. There will be “NO EXCEPTIONS” to this policy.
11. All participants agree to comply with the above guidelines; the Director of Veterans’ Services reserves the right to deny participation for any noncompliance with any of the above conditions
