LIBRARY NEWS: Wilmington Library To Host 9 Programs Next Week, Including Earth Day Celebration On April 23

Connect with a Social Worker
Tuesday, April 21, 10am-12pm
The Wilmington Wellness Coalition, in partnership with Wilmington Memorial Library, offers free, confidential sessions at the library for any library patron who may need support. Meet with Samantha Cavanaugh, the Town of Wilmington’s social worker, for help with mental health, substance use, housing, food insecurity, transportation, applications, caregiver support, and more. The first hour will be for drop-ins on a first-come, first-served basis, and the second hour will be appointment based in 20-minute time slots.

Arbor Day Tree Seedling Giveaway
Friday, April 24, All Day
We will be giving away one hundred Canaan Fir tree seedlings. One per family while supplies last! Thank you to the Friends for sponsoring this program.

Needleworkers
Friday, April 24, 10am-12pm
This is a social group for those who do any kind of needle craft. Bring your knitting, crocheting, quilting, etc. and enjoy conversation and camaraderie. Drop-in.

Youth Programs

DnD Dice Box Craft- with Pop Up Art School
Tuesday, April 21, 6pm
Craft a stunning custom dice box topped with a glass eye, surrounded by your own unique needle-felted design. Add a personal touch by painting the sides of your box with vibrant acrylics. Use your box to store treasures or your D&D dice. Bring the box to your next campaign and wow your friends! Grades 6-12

Music and Movement with Thom Mystic Early Intervention
Wednesday, April 22, 10am
Join Thom Mystic Early Intervention for this fun music and movement playgroup! Enjoy free motor play and a structured music circle time led by a music therapist. They will use songs, movement, and instruments to increase peer socialization, imitation skills, language development, sensory integration, and motor skills. Ages 15 months-5 years old

Minecraft: Lost City of Atlantis
Wednesday, April 22, 3:30-5pm and 5:30-7pm
Join Arrayscape Gaming for another awesome Minecraft event! Dive into the depths to explore the lost city as it’s been described for over 10,000 years. Is this fabled utopia real? Work together to uncover signs of Atlantis, from mysterious shipwrecks to vibrant coral reefs and underwater fortresses. Unleash your creativity to build your underwater to build your underwater masterpiece! Grades K-5

Earth Day Extravaganza!

Join us for a special Earth Day celebration! Learn what you can do to help Mother Earth through stories, songs, games, and a fun earth day inspired craft! Best for ages 3 and up

Playful Pathways: When I Grow Up
Friday, April 24, 11am
Join in on all the fun of our Money and Jobs unit! This Playful Pathways event is all about careers! Filled with dramatic play elements, children will get to pretend to be anything! Ages 0-5

Join sportscaster and bestselling author Michael Holley on Thursday, May 14th at 7:30pm (doors open at 6:30pm) as he discusses his work in a presentation. There will be a cash bar, book sales & an autograph signing! He hosts Boston Sports Tonight with Felger and Holley, as well as the Patriots Pre- and Post-Game Live shows, all on NBC Sports Boston. Annual Poetry Contest
Celebrate National Poetry Month by submitting to our Annual Poetry Contest: Words That Grow! For more information, visit https://wilmlibrary.org/community/poetry-contest-2026/. Plus, join us for a Poetry Night on May 20th at 6pm to celebrate the winners and enjoy refreshments. The deadline to submit a poem is Thursday, April 30th.
