OBITUARY: Kathleen “Katie” (Murphy) Jaeschke, 64

Below is an obituary from Nichols Funeral Home:

WILMINGTON, MA — Kathleen “Katie” Jaeschke, age 64, of Wilmington, passed away surrounded by her loving family on September 6, 2025. Katie was born on March 28, 1961 in Arlington, MA. She was the dear daughter of the late William and Carol Murphy of Woburn, Massachusetts.

Katie is survived by her husband, Robert Jaeschke, and her children, Elizabeth Jaeschke and her husband Kyle Ahearn, and Eric Jaeschke and his significant other Erin Corcoran. Katie is also survived by her siblings, Thomas Murphy and his wife Kate, Ellen Harrington and her husband Jay, Maureen Murphy, and Peter Murphy and his wife Caroline. In addition, Katie was devoted to her many loving nieces and nephews.

Her true calling was being a mother – not just to her own children, but to anyone who needed a safe haven, a kind word, or a helping hand. Katie had an innate ability to make those around her feel seen, loved, and cared for, no matter the circumstance.

After raising her children, Katie discovered a new passion in education, where she found fulfillment working at Pine Glen Elementary School, Burlington MA. She approached her work with the same care and devotion she had shown as a mother, touching the lives of countless children and their families.

Katie spent her life creating beautiful memories with her loved ones. She loved spending time near the ocean, a love that began on the shores of Popponesset Beach on Cape Cod and continued at Hampton Beach, where she found peace in the waves and sand.

Her family was her greatest joy and she was always present, offering support and guidance. Katie leaves behind a legacy of love, selflessness and a community that is forever grateful for her unwavering support and kindness. She will be deeply missed and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Family and friends are welcome to gather for visitation at Nichols Funeral Home (187 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington MA) on Thursday, September 11th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. A mass service will be held at St. Barbara’s Parish (138 Cambridge Road, Woburn MA), on Friday, September 12th at 10:00 a.m. Collation to follow at the Woburn Country Club (5 Country Club, Woburn MA) at 11:30 a.m.
