WILMINGTON, MA — The Town of Wilmington recently mailed a flyer to all residents, notifying them about the upcoming Special Town Meeting on Saturday, December 7, 2024.

This mailer is provided from the “TOWN” does that mean the Planning Board since they had to produce the best option by the Governor and Legislative edict or the Finance Committee since they and the PB had to approve the Articles. Or the Select Board who by the way voted 5-0 OPPOSING it. Or the Town Manager who the SB hired and has a three year contract in place. Or the Planning Director who is hired by the TM and is the only town employee named on this flyer? There is currently a Lawsuit against Milton by the Attorney General. This flyer is nothing more than fear mongering, by holding grant money over the town taxpayers heads and infers that the AG can enforce it which is also in question. Simultaneously, it leaves out both an affordable component and who will be flip the tab for the mitigation costs. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that oneout. That would be the town taxpayers. Need I say more? Ok, there are other legal avenues being used and explored to hold it off for another twelve months. Let’s follow North Reading and Dracut’s lead in the last month and vote NO this Saturday at Special Town Meeting and also sign this https://chng.it/5QXLxWsJn6 to RECALL Governor Healey.
