OBITUARY: Daniel James Jackson, 69

Below is an obituary submitted by the family:

It is with heavy hearts that we share that Dan has passed after his long battle with Parkinson’s and Lewy Body Disease.

Danny was an amazing son, best brother, loving husband, and friend to many. Born and raised in Wilmington, MA to parents from a long line of Canadian farmers, barn builders in New Brunswick, fishermen from Woods Harbour, NS, and Carpenters in Massachusetts. Carpentry was a trade that built Danny to the man he was. He took so much pride in his work, the craft, the integrity taught to him by his family, then his business. He was an amazing teacher. He was reliable, kind, patient, honest, a man of his word.

He met his wife, Cher, on Cape Cod. They knew it was meant to be. He proposed 1 month after meeting and married 2 months later. Soul mates for life. After meeting Cher’s family and friends in Nova Scotia, it was their favorite place to visit. In 2017 they retired to “Novi” and Dan became a citizen of Canada. A place they called home. They loved adventures, long drives to Woods Harbour, New Brunswick, PEI, the valley, and Digby.

Dan had a great sense of humor, loved meeting friends at the pub, sharing good food, a pint or 2, and telling jokes.

Danny had a great life. Gone but not forgotten, never apart, forever in our hearts.

Daniel James Jackson
