Wilmington Elderly Services Director Terri Marciello Provides Update On New Senior Center Project (May 2024)

Below is an update from Wilmington Elderly Services Director Terri Marciello, published in the Senior Center’s latest Buzzell Buzz newsletter:

WILMINGTON MA — Here’s what has been happening since our last Update in the May Newsletter:

The Senior Center Building Committee met on April 17 at the Town Hall. Our OPM provided an update on the work completed and the construction schedule. The exterior walls are being constructed. The permits have been received from the state regarding access from Main Street (Route 38). The interior walls will be installed in May followed by the roof trusses. Weekly on-site construction meetings are being held, which Terri Marciello attends.

The architect presented options for interior finishes and fixtures for the Committee’s review and selection. The Committee also reviewed some of the proposed exterior amenities.

The OPM reported that construction is on schedule and within the budget.

No date was set for the next meeting.

It is an exciting time in the construction schedule. As you drive by the site, you will now be able to see the building take shape. Much of the previous construction was underground.
