WILMINGTON, MA — Lisa (Padden) Smith passed away on April 20, 2024, in Wilmington, Massachusetts, at the age of 61 surrounded by her family and friends after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born on May 26, 1962, in Boston, Massachusetts.
Lisa grew up in Medford Massachusetts and always remained close with her high school group of girlfriends. Lisa graduated from Newbury College with an Associates degree, and went on to a career as a Medical Assistant. Many of her other jobs centered around helping others.
Lisa was known for her selfless nature, always prioritizing the needs of others above her own. She found joy in cooking for her family, spending time with her granddaughter, watching movies and TV shows. She enjoyed vacationing in Maine with family and friends, especially trips to Long Sands Beach in York Maine with her son Derek. Her warm presence and caring spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Lisa is survived by her devoted son, Derek Smith, her cherished daughter-in-law Emily, her precious granddaughter Rayna, and long time partner Joseph DeStefano. Also survived by her mother Marsha Padden, sister Gayle Padden, brother Scott Padden and his wife Michelle, as well as several nieces and nephews. Lisa is now reunited in heaven with her Nana, Enid Williams, who she loved dearly and passed away when she was 13 years old.
Services will be held to honor and remember Lisa’s life on Tuesday 4/30/2024 at 9:30AM. The service will be held at St Patrick’s Parish located at 71 Central St, Stoneham, MA 02180. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Lisa’s memory.
