OBITUARY: John “Jack” Paul Walsh, 90

WILMINGTON, MA — John Paul Walsh, fondly known as “Jack” to his family and friends, of Wilmington, MA, passed away peacefully at home on April 18, 2024; he was 90 years old.

Jack was born in Lynn, MA, on August 9, 1933; he was the dear son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Buchanan) Walsh.

Jack is survived by his beloved wife Dorothy A. (Sheehan) Walsh of Wilmington, he was the devoted father of Jean Thompson of Burbank, CA, John Walsh of Whitehall, NY, and Kathleen Walsh of Burbank, CA. Jack was the dear brother of David Walsh of Lynnfield, the late Joseph Walsh, Rita Farrell, Thomas Walsh, and James Walsh. He is further survived by his sister-in-law Mary L. Sheehan, as well as his many special nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 63 Winter St., North Reading, MA 01864, on Thursday, April 25th at 10:30 a.m.

Jack proudly served in the United States Army and was a beloved school teacher for the Town of Wakefield, MA, for many years.

Jack will be fondly remembered for his love of family and friends and for his competitive spirit. He was an avid competitor in horseshoes, tennis, and bowling.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack’s memory may be made to St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in North Reading or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 320 Nevada St., Suite 201, Newton, MA 02460.
