OBITUARY: Stanley D. Prescott, 79

WILMINGTON, MA — Stanley D. Prescott, 79, Leominster, and formerly of Lowell and Wilmington, MA passed away Tuesday January 23, 2024.

He was married to Emily Theresa “Teri” (Landry) Prescott who was the rock of his life and predeceased him. They were married for 56 years.

Born in Newton, MA in 1944, he was the son of the late Donald and Rachel Prescott.

He graduated from The Rivers School in Weston, MA, and eventually earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University while working full time.

He went on to a long and successful career in engineering, where he worked on the Apollo lunar missions at Lincoln Labs, industrial pollution control, the plastics industry and much more.

When he was not working, he enjoyed family time with Emily and their 2 sons, Albert and Charles. Later in life he also enjoyed the company of his grandchildren Bianca and Sebastian.

Amongst Stanley’s favorite things was driving in a convertible with his wife Emily, in all kinds of weather. He even “attempted” to restored 4 British sports cars. He was also a lover of music of the baroque and classical eras, particularly Bach. He loved a nice hot cup of coffee. He was an unlikely early adopter of video gaming. He enjoyed hockey and sailing in his earlier years.

He is survived by his two sons; Albert Prescott and his wife Judy Prescott of Westford, MA, Charles Prescott and his partner Lori Zani of Sterling, MA; and his two beloved grandchildren; Bianca and Sebastian Prescott.

The family invites everyone to Stanley’s Celebration of Life gathering which will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at the Chateau, 131 River Road, Andover, MA 01810.

In lieu of flowers, both Stanley and Emily often gave to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and would be pleased to know you did as well.
