OBITUARY: Patricia Ann (Carvalho) Lena, 74

Below is an obituary from Nichols Funeral Home:

WILMINGTON, MA — Patricia A. (Carvalho) Lena, age 74, of Wilmington, passed away May 10th, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Pat enjoyed many things in her life, playing Bingo, watching her favorite game shows on television, and taking trips to Foxwoods with her children. She spent many years attending car shows with her late husband Fred and was a fan of the Red Sox. Perhaps one of her favorite things to do was cooking for what seemed to be an army, but with as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who could blame her. Patricia spent all of her working years as a dedicated employee of Dunkin Donuts, but even during those 40 years, her family was always her top priority. Her kindness and love shone in every interaction and anytime her grandchildren opened her door to visit, they were met with a warm smile and a loving hug. “Nanny” was a beacon in her family and shone with encouragement and love. She was gentle, kind and fun loving. She spent her life raising a dedicated family, celebrating holidays, birthdays, and even random weekdays together. Her love will never be forgotten, and the space she has left in our lives will never be filled. As we heal during this time, we will reflect on all of the best times, the laughs, the memories, the snapshots of time that live within our hearts in loving memory of an amazing woman, sister, wife, mother and “Nanny.”

Patricia was the beloved wife of the late Frederick J. Lena. She was the loving mother of Jean Reed & her husband Orrin of Candia, NH, the late Vincent Lena, Leonard Lena & his wife Suzanne of Port Charlotte, FL, Kerry Oliveri & her late husband Timothy of Billerica, Michael Lena of Wilmington, Jodie Walsh & Kevin Messier of Tewksbury, cherished “Nanny” of Jason, Carrissa, Anthony, Amber, Kayla, Nicholas, Megan, Madison, Alyssa, Sheri, Austin, Jack, Annmarie, Russell and Derek, great-grandmother of Riley, Hunter, Kason, Henry, Ursula, Braedon, Olivia, Waylon and Cash. Pat was the daughter of Joseph Carvalho and the late Ann (Valenty) Carvalho. She was the dear sister of Joe Carvalho & his wife Beth of Pelham, NH, Anthony Carvalho of Wilmington and Rita Riddle & her husband Kevin of Billerica. Pat is also survived by her extended family April Smokowicz, Mark Carvalho, Chris Carvalho, Chad Carvalho and Cliff Carvalho, her aunt Ginger Cronin of Burlington as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
