WILMINGTON, MA — Below is a list of FREE upcoming programs for adults, teens and kids at the Wilmington Memorial Library.

Adult Programs

Cookin’ the Books
Tuesday, May 9, 12pm
If you love to cook and enjoy talking about food and sharing recipes then this group is for you. Pick up a copy of the cookbook (or find a recipe from the book online), register on the library events calendar and record your recipe. Bring your dish to the meeting and enjoy sampling everyone’s dishes! The featured cookbook for May is Smitten Kitchen Keepers by Deb Perelman.

VIRTUAL (Don’t) Call Me Crazy: Starting the Conversation About Mental Health with Kelly Jensen
Thursday, May 11, 7pm
What does it mean to be crazy? Is using the word crazy offensive? What happens when a label like that gets attached to your everyday experiences? Join Kelly Jensen, editor of the book (Don’t) Call Me Crazy: 33 Voices Start the Conversation about Mental Health, for advice on how to talk openly about mental health topics.

This is a social group for those who do any kind of needle craft. Bring your knitting, crocheting, quilting, etc. and enjoy a little conversation and camaraderie. Drop in.

Wilmington Community Playgroup
Monday, May 8, 10am
The Community Teamwork Family Resource Network is here for weekly playgroup sessions! Join us for our community playgroup where we will work on Early Literacy skills and much, much more! Ask us about any resources we can help provide for you and your family. Registration is for this day only. For more Community Playgroups, register for each date you’re available to attend. Ages 0-6

Multiplayer Monday
Monday, May 8, 2pm
On Monday afternoons in March and April, the Baldwin Room (the small room in Youth with the comfy chairs) will be reserved for teens in grades 6-12 to use the Nintendo Switch with our projector! Try out the latest games, play with friends, and make new ones. No registration required, just come by if you’re around! Grades 6-12

Write Cards for Youth in Foster Care
Tuesday, May 9, 6pm
Drop in during this card making drive for youth in foster care through the BRAID mission! We will provide supplies; you provide encouraging words and creative illustrations. Teens in grades 9-12 can earn 1-2 hours of community service for participating! Grades 6-12

Lil Bookworms Book Club
Wednesday, May 10, 3:45pm
This book club is for students in Kindergarten and Grades 1 & 2, and features books, reading comprehension, and an activity. Grades K-2

Poetry Contest Reception
Wednesday, May 10, 7pm
Winners of this year’s poetry contest will read their poems for friends, family, and community members and get their prizes! Enjoy refreshments and a night of fun! All Ages

Crafternoon: Citrus Coasters
Thursday, May 11, 3:30pm
We’ll be making no-sew coasters that look like citrus fruit slices! Grades 4-8

Drop-in Storytime
Friday, May 12, 10am
Come enjoy this fun outdoor storytime that includes books, rhymes, music and movement! Ages 2-6

Preschool Art Show Reception
Saturday, May 13, 10am
Celebrate these incredible artists all under 7 years old! We’ll have an artist reception (you may just meet some of the artists themselves) from 10am to 12pm with refreshments. Artwork will be on display from May 8th-20th. All Ages

Book Store Next Door
The Book Store Next Door is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. Shop discount books! Paperbacks for $1 and hardcovers for $2. The Book Store is staffed by volunteers from the Friends of the Library and all proceeds help support library programs.

Museum Passes
The library has discounted passes to your favorite Massachusetts museums, attractions, and state parks. Find the full list on our website!

WML In-Person Programming
Registration is required for most in-person programs. Please check our website on the day of the program to confirm location. Masks are no longer required for vaccinated patrons while visiting the library.

WML Virtual Programming
The library continues to offer a variety of virtual events. Please note that registration is required in order to receive the Zoom link. Go to to register or call 978-658-2967.


Stop by the library on Saturday, May 13th from 10am to 12pm to view artworks by Wilmington’s preschoolers! Refreshments will be provided at the reception. Artworks will be on display until Saturday, May 20th.
