OBITUARY: Anthony S. Rescigno, 95

KISSIMMEE, FL — Anthony S. Rescigno passed away peacefully in Kissimmee, FL on Thursday, April 20th at the age of 94. He is survived by his sister Marie and her husband John Bozzelli of Kissimmee, FL.

Anthony was born the eldest of two children in Canicatti, Sicily, Italy on August 25, 1928. As a child he came to the US with his parents and grew up in New York City. He served two tours of duty in the US military, first with the Navy and then with the Army.

Anthony worked as a mailman for many years in NY, and delivered mail to offices in the Empire State Building, before joining Eastern Airlines, a job which allowed him to pursue his love of travel. He worked long hours to make sure his family had everything they needed. In the 1980’s, Anthony and his family moved to Wilmington, MA, and he eventually retired to the warmer weather of Delray Beach, FL.

Anthony had a great passion for gardening and on most summer days could be found working in the yard for hours on end. He also enjoyed reading and learning about world history. Later in life he discovered ballroom dancing and spent years perfecting his new hobby. He reveled in music ranging from Classical to Classic Rock. Perhaps most of all he loved family dinners with Italian food, especially pasta!

He leaves behind his children, Patricia Evans of Davenport, FL and Paul Rescigno of Santa Clara, CA. He was predeceased by his parents Peter and Rose Rescigno, wife Mary Rescigno (1993) and wife Marguerite Daniell (2017).

A graveside funeral service will be held at the Wildwood Cemetery in Wilmington, MA, on Friday, April 28th at 11:00am. Please meet at the Wildwood St. entrance at 10:45am.
