THIS WEEKEND: Comedy Show To Support WHS Marching Band & Wilmington Sons And Daughters Of Italy Set For April 28

Below is a press release from the Wilmington Sons and Daughters of Italy and the Wilmington High School Band Parents:

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Sons and Daughters of Italy and the Wilmington High School Band Parents are hosting their Annual Comedy Night Fundraiser Friday, April 28, 2023 at the Tewksbury/Wilmington Elks located at 777 South Street Tewksbury, Massachusetts. The doors open at 7:30 PM and the show starts at 9:00 PM. Attendees to the event are invited to bring in their favorite munchies, appetizers, entrées, and desserts to enjoy at their tables. Your donation of just $20 per person will help to support the scholarship funds of the Wilmington Sons and Daughters of Italy and the WHS Band Parents.

The evening’s headliner is Mike Koutrobis. Mike has been entertaining audiences as a stand- up comedian for over twenty years. He has performed on all types of stages across the country, including but not limited to the Borgata in Atlantic City, Dangerfields & Gotham in NYC, Foxwoods & Mohegan, to name a few, and has also entertained US troops overseas. Mike has had some notable roles in movies and television such as Bleed For This, Back Bay & Dead Reckoning, and appearances in several others. He has also done commercial work appearing in ads for the Connecticut state lottery, Burger King & Dell computers. In addition to performing, Mike has also worked behind the camera for close to fifteen years. He has worked in the crew for major motion pictures such as Slender Man, Proud Mary, and Ghost Light. He also spent eight years on the Steve Katsos show, writing and producing close to 150 episodes of the award-winning cable access series.

Joining Mike in this year’s show will be Carolyn Plummer and Pat Collins. Carolyn has been doing comedy professionally for over 20 years. Carolyn has traveled extensively across the country working at clubs, colleges, lodges, theatres, and corporations, appearing with many of the top headliners in the business. She has participated in numerous festivals including the Burbank Comedy Festival; where I was named Best of the Fest, Boston Comedy Festival and The Women in Comedy Festival. Carolyn performed at Denis Leary’s Comics Come Home 26 at the TD Garden for the Cam Neely Foundation. She is a versatile comic who is at home telling jokes in front of nuns or biker dudes.

Our third comedian and this year’s opening act is Pat Collins. Pat is a standup comedian from Norwood. He is a regular at the British Beer Company Comedy Corner and performed at The Comedy Studio, CBS Comedy Scene, and The Comedy ConnectionRI. Pat plays at Comedy Nights, Private Parties and Fundraisers all over NewEngland. He recently starred in a series of very funny television commercials for NASCARandNew Hampshire Motor Speedway.

The show’s Master of Ceremonies is our very own Headliner, Wilmington’s funny man Steve Bjork. Steve has performed at all the major Boston and New England comedy clubs along with The Improv in Las Vegas, NV; Mohegan Sun in CT, Hilarities in Orlando, FL and Cleveland, OH; TSM Comedy Club in Louisville, KY; Crackers in Indianapolis, IN; Penguins in Cedar Rapids, IA and many others.

In addition to what will be a spectacular show there will be a Silent Auction and Raffle.
