WILMINGTON, MA — Below is a list of FREE upcoming programs for adults, teens and kids at the Wilmington Memorial Library.

Adult Programs

Needleworkers at Night
Monday, May 1, 6:30pm
Can’t make it to Needleworkers during the day? We’ve added new evening sessions on the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month. Bring your knitting, crocheting, quilting, etc. and enjoy a little conversation and camaraderie. Drop in.

VIRTUAL 50+ Job Seekers
Wednesday, May 3, 9:30am
The Massachusetts Library Collaborative’s 50+ Job Seekers Group meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month, from 9:30am to 11:30am, via Zoom. If you are unemployed and actively looking, underemployed, seeking a new career direction, re-entering the job market after a long employment gap, or recently retired and looking for your “Encore Career”, this networking group program is perfect for you! Remember, 85% of jobs are found through networking!

OFFSITE Pints + Pages Book Group
Thursday, May 4, 7pm
This is a social book group geared towards readers in their 20’s and 30’s. April’s featured title is Ducks: Two Years in the Oil Sands by Kate Beaton. This meeting will be held at the Red Heat Tavern in Wilmington.

Friday, May 5, 10am
This is a social group for those who do any kind of needle craft. Bring your knitting, crocheting, quilting, etc. and enjoy a little conversation and camaraderie. Drop in.

VIRTUAL Fiction Critique Group
Saturday, May 6, 9:15am
Love writing fiction? Whether you are drafting a short story or a novel, joining our Critique Group is a great opportunity to meet other writers and get constructive feedback in a supportive environment. Open to all experience levels writing in all genres. Led by local writing enthusiast, Barbara Alevras. This event will be held over Zoom. You will receive an invite from the presenter prior to the program date.

Youth Programs

Wilmington Community Playgroup
Monday, May 1, 10am
The Community Teamwork Family Resource Network is here for weekly playgroup sessions! Join us for our community playgroup where we will work on Early Literacy skills and much, much more! Ask us about any resources we can help provide for you and your family. Registration is for this day only. For more Community Playgroups, register for each date you’re available to attend. Ages 0-6

Multiplayer Monday
Monday, May 1, 2pm
On Monday afternoons in March and April, the Baldwin Room (the small room in Youth with the comfy chairs) will be reserved for teens in grades 6-12 to use the Nintendo Switch with our projector! Try out the latest games, play with friends, and make new ones. No registration required, just come by if you’re around! Grades 6-12

May the Fourth Be With You Activities
Thursday, May 4, 10am – 5pm
Swing by the library anytime between 10am and 5pm to celebrate the most fantastical day of the year – Star Wars Day! Enjoy puzzles, crafts and a photo booth where you can pose with Grogu, R2D2, and C3PO! All ages

Star Wars Trivia
Thursday, May 4, 3:45pm
Do you know the name of Anakin Skywalker’s Padawan? Then come join us for some afternoon trivia to celebrate all things Star Wars! The winning team will win a cardboard cutout of everyone’s favorite baby, Grogu! Intended for families with kids aged 5-17

Book Store Next Door
The Book Store Next Door is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. Shop discount books! Paperbacks for $1 and hardcovers for $2. The Book Store is staffed by volunteers from the Friends of the Library and all proceeds help support library programs.

Museum Passes
The library has discounted passes to your favorite Massachusetts museums, attractions, and state parks. Find the full list on our website!

WML In-Person Programming
Registration is required for most in-person programs. Please check our website on the day of the program to confirm location. Masks are no longer required for vaccinated patrons while visiting the library.

WML Virtual Programming
The library continues to offer a variety of virtual events. Please note that registration is required in order to receive the Zoom link. Go to to register or call 978-658-2967.

Are you a Star Wars fan? On Thursday, May 4th, we will have puzzles, crafts, and a photo booth to take pictures with your favorite Star Wars characters. There will also be Star Wars trivia at 3:45pm. May the fourth be with you!
