LETTER: Wilmington Rotary Club & WHS Rotary Interact Club Raise Over $2,500 To Combat Polio From Recent ‘Polar Plunge’ At Silver Lake

Dear Editor,

On Saturday March 25, 2023, The Wilmington Rotary Club held their Polar Plunge Fundraiser for “Polio Plus” at Silver Lake.

We wish to thank all of our Rotary and High School Interact Club Members for coming out to support this important cause, especially the seventeen brave individuals who took the Plunge!

Thank you also to the local residents, families and supporters who came out and whom have so far donated over $2,500 to this effort. All money raised goes to Rotary International’s Polio Plus program that endeavors to rid the entire world of the scourge of Polio forever.

Special thanks go out to Wilmington Recreation, our media partners, the Town Crier, The Wilmington Apple, and especially Tom and Jim from WCTV for the soon-to-be released feature film, and to Rick and his staff at Tremezzo Ristaurante for hosting the plungers with Pizza after the event.
