Below is an announcement from the Wilmington DPW:
WILMINGTON, MA — The Town of Wilmington is pleased to announce the installation of two columbariums, located off Cypress Avenue in the Wildwood Cemetery. Due to the limited available burial space and the increase in families choosing cremation, these columbariums offer an alternative to in-ground burial of cremated remains and will utilize space that cannot be used for burials.
Columbariums may be purchased “Pre-Need”, meaning you do not need to have a death in the family in order to purchase one.
Each columbarium has 32 niches, and each niche can hold up to 2 cremation urns that must be able to fit in a space measuring 12” x 12” x 12”.
Pricing for each niche is by row:
Row 1 (bottom row) — $600.00
Row 2 — $800.00
Row 3 — $1,000.00
Row 4 (top row) — $1,200.00
Click here for Columbarium Rules & Regulations which include requirements for engraving the niche faceplate. Before any engraving is done, written approval must be obtained from the Wildwood Cemetery.
