Below is an obituary from Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home:

SALEM, NH — Raymond Ronald Busta, 93, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2023. He was born in 1929 in Methuen, MA and spent most of his adult life in Salem, NH and Atkinson, NH. He attended and graduated from Edward F. Searles HS Methuen MA. He then went on to serve in the U.S. Army during the Korean war from 1951-1953. Ray returned home and married his bride Helen in June 1953.

Ray attended night school acquiring an Associates degree from Merrimack College in N. Andover, MA. He went on to work at AVCO in Wilmington MA in the 1960’s followed by several years at Sanders Associates, now BAE, in Nashua NH from where he retired. During his retirement years, Ray loved playing golf, traveling to Florida for the winter months, and spending ample time with family and friends. If he wasn’t outside tending to his garden, he could often be found watching professional golf on TV and tinkering with something at his work bench. He was quiet and reserved, but Ray was the unwavering support system for his whole family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Albina Busta, brother Edward, and sisters Albina, Anna, and Henrietta; and his cherished wife of 69 years, Helen (Boucher) Busta. He is survived by his two beloved sons, Paul Raymond Busta and Richard Donald Busta, daughters-in-law Kimberly (Webb) Busta and Lori (Cote) Busta, and granddaughter Megan (Busta) Hicks. As well as several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held for the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ray’s name to the Manchester VA Medical Center, 718 Smyth Rd, Manchester, NH 03104.
