THIS WEEKEND: Mike Ippolito Memorial Jamboree Set For Sunday, December 11

TEWKSBURY, MA — The Wilmington, Tewksbury and Shawsheen Tech athletic communities will be honoring longtime Town Crier sports writer Mike Ippolito with a memorial fundraising event this Sunday, December 11, 2022, from 8:30am to 12:30pm, at Tewksbury Memorial High School.

The Mike Ippolito Memorial Jamboree will feature four 16-minute basketball games:

  • 8:30am: Bedford High Girls vs. Shawsheen Tech Girls
  • 9:30am: Bedford High Boys vs. Shawsheen Tech Boys
  • 10:30am: Wilmington High Girls vs. Tewksbury High Girls
  • 11:30am: Wilmington High Boys vs. Tewksbury High Boys

Admission costs $5. There will be concessions for sale, as well as tickets to a 50/50 raffles. A silent auction will include tickets for Patriots, Bruins and Celtics games; a Jason Tatum Jersey; autographed baseballs from three current MLB players; a liquor store gift certificate; a free golf outing for 4; and a custom cornhole boards, along with gift baskets.

Proceeds will help fund six $500 scholarships to male and female senior athletes, divided evenly among Wilmington High, Tewksbury High and Shawsheen Tech.

Ippolito, 54, a Tewksbury resident, passed away in September, having covered the local high school sports scene for more than 20 years.
