Below is a press release from the organizers of the Wilmington Santa Parade:
WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington’s Santa Parade is back again this year. The organizers are excited to say that since COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted, the Santa visits are back!
The parade is scheduled for Saturday, December 3, 2022 and Sunday, December 4, 2022.
Saturday will consist of two 45-minute stops for kids to visit Santa and take photos with him. The stops are the Shawsheen Elementary School from 11am to 11:45am and the North Intermediate School from 1pm to 1:45pm.
Sunday will feature the parade.
The parade’s helpers will be collecting toy and food pantry donations as well as letters for military troops at the Santa stops and along the parade route. Pass them to the elves on the second A&S Towing truck in the parade lineup. Residents also have the option of dropping donations and letters off at the Wilmington Public Safety Building. Toy donations will go to Wilmington children in need through the Wilmington Fire Department’s Toys for Children Drive. The town food pantry will receive the food collected.
The parade route will be published soon in great detail on the event Facebook page, “Wilmington, MA Santa Parade.” Residents will be able to check out the times and places for the scheduled stops for Saturday and the parade route for Sunday by visiting this Facebook page. They can also get live updates on that Facebook page throughout both days of festivities.
Organizers remind everyone that the safety of the volunteers and the public coming out to see the “big guy” is paramount. Inclement weather and road conditions could change the route and timing of the parade. Published times are approximate as traffic conditions may also impact the schedules.
