WILMINGTON, MA — Below is a list of FREE upcoming programs for adults, teens and kids at the Wilmington Memorial Library.

Adult Programs

INDOOR Intro to Excel
Monday, November 7, 7pm
Join technology librarian, Brad McKenna, for a hands-on exercise with Microsoft Excel. In this class you’ll learn how to modify cells, sort and filter data, use formulas, and more.

VIRTUAL Bringing Our Heroes Home: Inside the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency
Monday, November 7, 7pm
Retired marine and World War II research analyst Tim Kelleher will talk about the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) and its mission of finding and identifying the remains of missing U.S. service members and to provide the fullest possible accounting of missing personnel for their families. Kelleher will also share some of her field experiences as one of many dedicated investigators who travel the world looking for the missing.

INDOOR Cookin’ the Books

Featured Cookbook: Cook This Book by Molly Baz. If you love to cook and enjoy talking about food and sharing recipes then this group is for you. Pick up a copy of the cookbook (or find a recipe from the book online), register on the library events calendar and record your recipe. Bring your dish to the meeting and enjoy sampling everyone’s dishes! These recipes have already been picked: Big Beans & Spicy Greens Gratin, Blueberry Cornflake Crisp, Caesar-ish potato salad with Radishes and Dill, Shrimp Cocktail with Dilly Horseradish Cream, and Spanakopita Dip.

INDOOR NaNoWriMo & Novel Writing

Laura Hatosy, self-published author of Drawn from Memory, a YA historical fiction novel, will discuss how to make the most of National Novel Writing Month and general writing tips!

INDOOR Craft and Chat
Wednesday, November 9, 7pm
Enjoy making a craft while socializing with others! This craft group meets the second Wednesday of the month at 7 pm. All craft supplies provided. Led by longtime crafter Rachelle Toth. The November featured craft will be String Art Cards.

VIRTUAL Author Talk: Lynne Reeves in Discussion with John Searles
Wednesday, November 9, 7pm
Author Lynne Reeves will discuss her latest book, Dark Rivers To Cross, in conversation with bestselling author John Searles, via Zoom. This program is offered in collaboration with the Tewksbury Public Library and other Massachusetts Libraries.

VIRTUAL Norman Rockwell & WWII
Thursday, November 10, 7pm
What happens when an artist known for his use of humor tackles the serious subject of war? This program explores how his work departs from earlier artistic interpretations of American conflicts and considers how and why he chose specific wartime themes to present to the millions of readers of the Saturday Evening Post.

INDOOR Reading Rockets Book CLub

INDOOR Crafternoon: Wax Seals
Thursday, November 10, 3:30pm
We’ll be creating our own wax seals with buttons and corks, and practicing with some melted wax! Grades 4-8

INDOOR Drop-in Storytime
Friday, November 11, 10am
Come enjoy this fun indoor storytime that includes books, rhymes, music and movement! Ages 2-6

WML In-Person Programming
Registration is required for most in-person programs. Please check our website on the day of the program to confirm location. Masks are no longer required for vaccinated patrons while visiting the library.

WML Virtual Programming

Shop discount books! Paperbacks for $1 and hardcovers for $2.
The Book Store is staffed by volunteers from the Friends of the Library and all proceeds help support library programs.
