VIRTUAL 50+ Job Seekers

If you are unemployed and actively looking, underemployed, seeking a new career direction, re-entering the job market after a long employment gap, or recently retired and looking for your “Encore Career”, this networking group program is perfect for you! Remember, 85% of jobs are found through networking! This week’s topic (November 2) covers Interview Preparation & Strategy.

INDOOR Pints + Pages Book Group
Thursday, November 3, 7pm
A social book group geared towards readers in their 20’s and 30’s. The group meets on the first Thursday of every other month. The book discussion will be hosted by librarians from the Wilmington and Reading Public Libraries. Meeting location rotates between Wilmington and Reading. Featured Book: Cultish by Amanda Montell. This meeting will take place at the Wilmington Memorial Library.

INDOOR Needleworkers
Friday, November 4, 10am
This is a social group for those who do any kind of needle craft. Bring your knitting, crocheting, quilting, etc. and enjoy a little conversation and camaraderie.

VIRTUAL Fiction Critique Group
Saturday, November 5, 9:15am
Love writing fiction? Whether you are drafting a short story or a novel, joining our Critique Group is a great opportunity to meet other writers and get constructive feedback in a supportive environment. Open to all experience levels writing in all genres. Led by local writing enthusiast, Barbara Alevras. If you are interested in attending this event, please email the Adult Services Librarian at adultservices@wilmlibrary.org. Please include the title of the program in the subject heading. This event will be held over Zoom. You will receive an invite from the presenter prior to the program date.

Youth Programs

INDOOR Wilmington Community Playgroup
Monday, October 31, 10am
Join us for our community playgroup where we will work on Early Literacy skills and much, much more! Ask us about any resources we can help provide for you and your family! Ages 0-5

INDOOR Lil Bookworms Book Club
Wednesday, November 2, 3:30pm
This book club is for students in Kindergarten, Grades 1 and 2, and features books, reading comprehension and an activity. Siblings welcome. Grades K-2

INDOOR Lego Building!
Thursday, November 3, 3:30pm
Build with LEGOs at the same time as other LEGO fans at the library. At the end you can share what you made! Grades K-5

INDOOR Middle School Book Group
Thursday, November 3, 3:30pm
The Middle School Book Club is back! Come to our first meeting to talk about books you’ve read recently & eat snacks. We’ll also decide what to read for our December meeting. Grades 6-8

INDOOR Drop-in Storytime
Friday, November 4, 10am
Come enjoy this fun indoor storytime that includes books, rhymes, music and movement! Ages 2-6

INDOOR Beginner Comics Workshop

Do you love reading graphic novels? Get started creating your own comics in a workshop presented by Comics4Culture, and learn about comic book culture and history. Grades 4-8

VIRTUAL D&D
Saturday, November 5, 3pm
Interested in finding out more about this fantasy tabletop role-playing game, or looking for a group to play with? Join us for a virtual campaign via Zoom every month with DM Mike! Please register using the email address where you’d like to receive the Zoom invitation (no school emails, please). You will receive the Zoom invitation via email at least an hour before the program begins. You will need to register for an account on D&DBeyond before playing. Please email us at teens@wilmlibrary.org with any questions. Grades 6-8

WML In-Person Programming
Registration is required for most in-person programs. Please check our website on the day of the program to confirm location. Masks are no longer required for vaccinated patrons while visiting the library.

WML Virtual Programming
The library continues to offer a variety of virtual events. Please note that registration is required in order to receive the Zoom link. Go to wilmlibrary.org to register or call 978-658-2967.

Book Store Next Store, 183 Middlesex Ave.
Open Saturdays & Wednesdays, 10am – 4pm
Shop discount books! Paperbacks for $1 and hardcovers for $2.
The Book Store is staffed by volunteers from the Friends of the Library and all proceeds help support library programs.
