WILMINGTON, MA — Richard A. “Richie” Bouchie, of Wilmington, formerly of Woburn, died peacefully, October 12th at the age of seventy-six, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Linda E. (Gillis) Bouchie, for over 49 years.
Born and raised in Woburn, Richie was a son of the late Albert and Ruth (Noel) Bouchie. He was a graduate of Woburn High School. Following high school, Richie enlisted in the US Navy. He served proudly during the Vietnam War until being honorably discharged. He was a proud veteran through and through!
After returning from War, Richie married his longtime love, Linda, whom he had met in the eighth grade. Through high school, college, the Vietnam War and for forty-nine years, they were devoted to each other. Together they started and raised their family in Woburn along with Richie’s beloved dog Botch. They finally settled in Wilmington.
For many years Richie worked as an Engineer for Alpha Industries who later became Skyworks, until his retirement.
Richie remained active throughout his life and was an avid cyclist. After his wife’s passing, Richie would enjoy daily drives to Horn Pond, where he would relax and chat with people as they passed by.
He was an avid sports fan but especially loved Saturdays spent watching College Football. His family was his pride and joy, and he was always their biggest support. The love of family, sports and life was well developed over the years, with his wife by his side.
Proud father of Noel Cali, her husband Christopher, Nicole Anderson, her husband Carl, Rebecca Lawler, her husband Michael, all of Wilmington, and Richard P. Bouchie, his wife Kristy of Tewksbury. Cherished grandfather of Megan, Michael, Luc, Gabe, Matthew, Christopher, Alexander, Drew and Jack. Dear brother of Mary Lou Francis, her late husband Robert of Florida. Loving brother-in-law of Edward Gillis, his wife Maureen of Florida, Susan Carroll, her late husband Paul of Woburn and Mary Ellen Carbone, her husband Ralph of NH, as well as survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
His Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, October 19th at 11 a.m. in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, MA 01801. Interment and military honors to follow in Woodbrook Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours, prior to the service, from 9 – 11. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richie’s memory to Veterans Services c/o Local Heroes 121 Glen Rd., Wilmington, MA 01887.
