OBITUARY: Carol L. (McNamara) Malatesta, 81

WILMINGTON, MA — Carol L. (McNamara) Malatesta, age 81, of Wilmington, formerly a long-time resident of Somerville and Malden, passed away peacefully at home on October 9, 2022.

Carol was born on February 20, 1941, in Somerville, MA; she was the dear daughter of the late John L. and Mary A. (Villa) McNamara. She was raised and educated in Somerville and a graduate of Somerville High School.

Carol was the beloved mother of Carolann Malatesta of Malden, Sharon Neal & her husband Paul of Wilmington, Barbara Hardiman & her husband Martin of Wakefield and the late Robert Malatesta & his wife Kelly Malatesta of Wilmington. Loving “Noni” of Jason, Rachael, Maegan, Jordan, Brenna, Bradleigh, Zachary, Brian, Julianna, Devyn and Domenic. Dear sister of Jeremiah McNamara of New York, the late Barbara Ellis of Cambridge, and the late John McNamara & his wife Beverly McNamara of Billerica. Carol is also survived by her former husband and friend Bobby Malatesta of Malden, her dear BFF Thomas Milton of Cambridge, and her many nieces, nephews and their families.

Family and friends will gather for a Graveside Service on Friday, October 14th at 11:30 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery, 302 Elm Street, Everett, MA.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Carol’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
