Get Your Pets Blessed This Sunday At St. Thomas & St. Elizabeth’s

WILMINGTON, MA — Two Wilmington churches are holding blessing of the pets this weekend.

Parish of the Transfiguration

On Sunday, October 2, 2022, after the 12pm mass, the Parish of the Transfiguration is holding its annual Blessing of the Pets outside of Villanova Hall, next to St. Thomas (126 Middlesex Avenue).

The church’s charities committee is also holding a collection to benefit animals at the MSPCA. Donations may be left at the entrances of both churches during all masses on October 1, 2022 and October 2, 2022, as well as the Blessing of the Pets. Requested items include dry/canned cat food, dry/canned dog food, bird food, ferret food, towels, blankets, sheets, pillow cases, paper towels, kleenex, cat litter, cat toys, dog toys and ferret toys.

St. Elizabeth’s

On Sunday, October 2, 2022 at 10am, St. Elizabeth’s (4 Forest Street) will holding its annual Blessing of the Animals. All are welcome! Bring your pet, stuffed animal, photo or toy of your pet to be blessed. Send your pet’s name if you are unable to attend, but would like your pet to be blessed from a distance.
