Below is an announcement from the Wilmington DPW:
WILMINGTON, MA — The re-opening of Middlesex Ave Route 62 to two-way traffic is scheduled for the evening of August 30, 2022 at 6 pm, at which time the contractor will remove the major barricades and major detour signage along Route 62 (at Federal Street and High Street). The contractor will be working throughout the day on August 31st to remove all static traffic control signage along the detour routes associated with the roadway closure.
Please note that temporary barriers will be in place along each side of the traveled way to allow the Contractor to work through the months of September and October to complete the project. That said, this section of Route 62 will still be classified as a “work zone” and intermittent lane closures will be necessary to complete the project and short delays are expected during this time. Over the next few weeks, the roadway surface through the work zone will be a temporary roadway surface consisting of asphalt millings and gravel until all work is completed. For everyone’s safety, commuters and residents are asked to please reduce speed through the work zone and please obey the directives of police details and warning signs during all construction operations. Additionally, this section of Route 62 (through the work zone) will continue to be closed to pedestrian traffic for safety reasons. The expectation is that pedestrian traffic will resume to normal operations by the end of September but please refer to social media and the Town’s website http://www.wilmingtonma.gov for updates.
