WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington School Committee is holding a meeting this Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 7pm in the High School’s Large Instruction Room.
The meeting will be streamed live on WCTV.org and on WCTV.
The School Committee will be in an Executive Session between 6pm and 7pm to discuss contract negotiations with the Educational Assistants union.
There are several noteworthy items on the agenda for the regular meeting, including:
- The School Committee will consider authorizing the Town Manager to execute the Feasibility Study agreement with the MSBA for the replacement of the Wildwood School.
- The School Committee will hear an Equity Audit Report presentation.
- The School Committee will examine proposed changes to the Middle School handbook.
- The School Committee will discuss the student discipline section in the Student/Parent Handbook.
- Superintendent Brand will provide his bi-monthly report and provide updates on (1) Wildwood Study; (2) Special Town Meeting; (3) Free Meals For Students For School Year; (4) Memorandum of Understanding Between Police & Schools; and (5) Anticipated Student Enrollment. Brand will also share a recent a Boston Globe article.
- The School Committee will hear a presentation from Assistant Superintendent Elliott regarding a self-evaluation of Tiered Focus Monitoring.
- The School Committee will accept a television donation from Locus Robotics.
- The School Committee will approve the disposal of surplus and outdated supplies from the Woburn Street School.
The School Committee will also hear any public comments, correspondence, and subcommittee reports.
