5 Things To Do In Wilmington On Saturday, August 13, 2022: Wilmington Tennis Open; Roller Derby At Shriners; Yardwaste Center Open

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 5 things to do in Wilmington on Saturday, August 13, 2022:

  • Friends of Wilmington Tennis is holding its Fourth Annual Wilmington Tennis Open today. Tournament Directors Rob Mailey (WHS Boys Tennis Coach), Matt Hackett (WHS Girls Tennis Coach), and Kathleen Reynolds are excited to host the event at the Wilmington High School and Boutwell School Tennis Courts. The tournament will feature several different divisions, including singles for girls and boys from grammar school to high school seniors, as well as doubles for adults over high school age. Cost of the Tournament is $25 per player, with all proceeds going to support Friends of Wilmington Tennis (FWT). Learn more HERE.
  • Boston Roller Derby, a Boston-based, female-only roller derby league, returns to the Shriners Auditorium (99 Fordham Road) for doubleheader action — Cosmonaughties vs. Nutcrackers at 5pm, followed by Wicked Pissahs vs. Harbor Horrors at 7pm. Doors open at 4:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance online HERE for a discounted price of $12, or at the door for $16. Admission covers entry for both games (5pm start and 7pm start) and the after party (9pm start). Children under 6 are admitted for free. Advance ticket sales will end at 12 PM on game day. VIP seats are trackside; General Admission seats are in the bleachers or standing room. Concessions and box office ticket sales at Shriners Auditorium are cash only. An ATM is available on-site.   • State Representative Ken Gordon (D-Bedford), who represents Precinct 3 in Wilmington as well as all of Burlington and Bedford, will host his latest monthly office hours at 9am at True North Coffee (204 Cambridge Street) in Burlington and at 10:30am at Peppers Grille (321 Great Road) in Bedford.
